When electronics actually go on sale in Bahrain

Updated 6 September 2026 · 5 min read

Bahrain's electronics retailers run promotions almost continuously, but the discounts are not spread evenly across the year. Knowing when the genuine cuts arrive — and when a "sale" banner is just a banner — is the difference between a fair price and a great one.

The big four moments

Ramadan and the run-up to Eid al-Fitr bring the year's longest promotional period. TVs and home appliances see the deepest discounts, with retailers competing on bundles (free installation, extended warranty, gift vouchers) as much as on headline price.

Back-to-school in August and September is the laptop and tablet season. Sharaf DG, Jarir, eXtra, and Lulu all run dedicated campaigns, and the telcos add student bundles. If you need a laptop, waiting for late August usually pays off.

White Friday (the Gulf's Black Friday, late November) is the single biggest week for phones, gaming consoles, and audio. Stock of the most popular items sells out fast, so a price alert set in advance is more useful than refreshing on the day.

Year-end and January clearance follows the new-model cycle: once a new iPhone, Galaxy, or TV generation lands, the previous generation is discounted to clear — often the best value of the year for a still-excellent product.

How to tell a real discount from a banner

A discount is only real if the price is lower than it was before the promotion. That is exactly what Farq's price history is for: every product page shows the tracked daily low price over time, and the Deals page lists only products whose current price is genuinely below last week's.

Compare across retailers too. A 20% "sale" at one shop can still be higher than another shop's everyday price — it happens more often than you'd expect with TVs and appliances.

Quiet months

February to April (outside Ramadan) and June to July are the quietest periods for new promotions. They are, however, when retailers quietly reduce prices on slow-moving stock without advertising it — which is where daily price tracking beats waiting for a campaign.
